The virtues of reciting the Qur’an

“Those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and openly, hope for a trade that will never fail, that Allah may give them their full reward and increase for them out of His bounty. Indeed, He is Most Forgiving, Appreciative.” – Surah Fatir, 35:29-30

The Rewards Of The Holy Quran's Hafez

The status of those who recite and memorize the Quran in the afterlife will be exceedingly high. Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

‘On the Day of Judgment, the reciter of the Quran will be told, “Continue to recite and ascend.” Recite beautifully as you used to recite beautifully in the world, for as far as your recitation reaches, that will be your station.’ – Jami’ at-Tirmizi, Hadith 2914;

    The Quran: An Intercessor on the Day of Judgment

Abu Umamah al-Bahili reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Recite the Quran, for indeed the Quran will intercede for its companion on the Day of Judgment.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 804)

For Every Letter has One Reward

  • The Prophet (peace be upon him) also stated, “Whoever recites a letter from the Quran will have one good deed recorded for him. And a good deed is multiplied by ten. I do not say that ‘alif, lam, mim’ is one letter, but ‘alif’ is a letter, ‘lam’ is a letter, and ‘mim’ is a letter.” (Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2910)

The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.

  • The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said, “The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Jami’ at-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2909)
